Terry Fox Run

Grade Wars - Gr. 12's were "Bright and Tight"
Carman Collegiate celebrated the running of its 15th annual Terry Fox Run today.  Prior to going on the run, our students were involved in Grade Wars in the gym.  This involved in our students competing grade vs grade in various fun games.

After the Grade Wars, our students headed out onto the walking path for the Terry Fox Run.  Approximately 100 students ran the course.  Students raised over $1100 for us to donate to cancer research in Terry's name.  Thank you to all who pledged our students.

Grade 7's on the move.

Family Movie Night

The Youth in Philanthropy opening movie of the year, "Inside Out" brought out 145 people, our biggest showing  yet!  Next Thursday, Family Movie night will show "Ant Man".  Again, the cost is $5 per person or $15 per family and proceeds go toward the Youth in Philanthropy support of community programs.  Show time is 7:00 pm and all are welcome to attend.

Classes will resume for our grade 7 to 9 students on Thursday, September 10.  Along with welcome back assemblies, they will be starting regular classes as well.

Classes will resume for our grade 10 to 12 students on Friday, September 11.  All students, even those who do not have a scheduled class for first period, are asked to attend this full morning as we will be having meetings and distributing information.  Regular classes will also be starting on Friday.  All grade 10 to 12 students will be asked to report to their advisors for 8:55 am (advisor lists will be posted on the theatre bulletin board).

Our canteen will be up and running for Thursday.  Reminder that daily specials will be posted on this newsletter, and that $20 meal cards can be purchased (and are kept) at the canteen.
